Whisky review No. 15 - Islay Mist Deluxe Blended Scotch Whisky
Now here's an interesting thing. I'm doing a review of a blended scotch, which is unusual since I don't usually drink them. I'm trying to avoid being too much of a whisky snob, so I thought I was going to do a series on blended whiskies. It's not going to be a series after all. I'm just going to throw them into the mix as and when. I hope that's ok with you. If not, you'll just have to live with it. I decided to do this one now since the bottle's almost empty, and if I finish it off and get a review posted then I can take it to the recycling place and throw it into the container with a satisfying glass smashing sound. Recycling is cool. Hold onto your hats, it's going to be a rough ride!

Spirit review No.3 - Glenglassaugh New Make Spirit - The spirit that dare not speak its name
Crikey, I haven't written a review for ages! Sorry about that, I realize my regular readers must be weeping under tables in gloomy bars due to the long and hopeless wait. Or wandering from internet cafe to internet cafe stopping for an espresso and to check for new posts, only to suffer disapointment as bitter as the over extracted, tar like coffee. Do they still have internet cafes? I thought they were pretty much obsolete, but comment below if you've been in one recently. If we meet in person I'll try to reimburse you for the espresso too, but no promises. Anyway, it's been long enough, let's get into action.

Spirit review No. 2 - Jær Akevitt
I just posted my review of Aberlour A'bunadh and it was such a long time between that and the previous review that I felt a bit guilty, so I'm starting work on another review right away. This one's Jær Akevitt. It's an aquavit, which can apparently be spelled any way you feel like spelling it. It's the spirit native to Norway where I live, and indeed native to Scandinavia in general. It's a slightly obscure spirit, and I haven't seen it in many bars outside of Norway. Ah well, I hope this review will give you some clue of what it's about. Here we go...

Whisky review No. 11 - Longrow Peated Whisky
Greetings once again and welcome to another spectacular whisky review. I've been tasting so many things it's untrue so there's plenty of stuff to come when I get round to writing it all. We're not too far off 1700 blog views at this point, things are getting serious. No more Diageo for now, today it's a wonderful craft offering from the Springbank distillery. No more caramel colouring, no more chill filtering, no more wondering why they chose to bottle at 43%. This is the real thing, so brace yourself for the read of a lifetime.....

Spirit review No.1 - Linie Aquavit
Here's another little review. I wasn't quite sure what to put as the title at first. I'm planning on doing lots of whisky reviews with a few cigars, beers and maybe pipe tobaccos. This one doesn't really come under any of those categories. There's no point in "Aquavit review No. 1" if I never do a number two (hee hee). I decided it's "Spirit review No.1" because that leaves the door open to have a crack at tequila, brandy, gin, rum and whatever else might catch my attention in the future. I just realized that after I post this less than half the posts on my whisky tasting blog will be whisky reviews. Don't get too upset, I now have a bottle of 12 year old cask strength Springbank to peruse so that'll balance the equation in a few days when I've examined it thoroughly. Here comes the aquavit review. Brace yourselves, you're in for a rough ride....
